Galvanized steel tube galvanization refers to a surface treatment technology that coats a layer of zinc on the surface of metal, alloy or other materials for aesthetics and rust prevention. The main method used is hot-dip galvanizing.
Zinc is soluble in acid and alkali, so it is called amphoteric metal. Zinc hardly changes in dry air. In humid air, a dense basic zinc carbonate film will be formed on the zinc surface. In an atmosphere containing sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and oceanic atmospheres, zinc has poor corrosion resistance, especially in an atmosphere containing organic acids at high temperature and high humidity, the zinc coating is easily corroded.
The galvanized steel tube is to make the molten metal react with the iron matrix to produce an alloy layer, so that the matrix and the plating layer are combined. Hot-dip galvanizing is to pickle the steel pipe first. In order to remove the iron oxide on the surface of the steel pipe, after the pickling, it is cleaned in a tank with ammonium chloride or zinc chloride aqueous solution or a mixed aqueous solution of ammonium chloride and zinc chloride, and then sent to In the hot dip plating tank. Hot-dip galvanizing has the advantages of uniform coating, strong adhesion and long service life. Most of the galvanized steel tube process in northern China uses the galvanized strip to directly roll the tube to replenish the zinc process.
In order to improve the corrosion resistance of steel pipes, general steel pipes are galvanized. The galvanized steel tube is divided into two types: hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing. The hot-dip galvanizing layer is thick, the cost of electro-galvanizing is low, and the surface is not very smooth.
Most of the old houses use galvanized steel tubes. Now the iron pipes used for gas and heating are also galvanized steel tubes. Galvanized steel tubes are used as water pipes. After several years of use, a lot of rust and dirt are generated in the pipes, and the yellow water that flows out is not only It contaminates sanitary ware, and is mixed with bacteria that breed on the matte inner wall. The rust causes excessive heavy metal content in the water, which seriously endangers human health. Therefore, galvanized steel tubes are rarely used for cold water pipes in newly built communities, and galvanized steel tubes are used for hot water pipes in some communities.
